Spring Activities for Seniors in Boise

Spring is starting to show its face in the Boise area, which means that it’s time to get outside and get some of that Vitamin D! The flowers are blooming, the trees are budding, and the sun is shining. After the last few chilly months, it is almost time to break out the spring clothes and take part in some outdoor activities. Boise has a lot to offer on a sunny day for all ages, but especially for seniors!

There are a lot of events and activities that come to Boise as springtime begins to take hold. Here are some that are perfect for seniors that want to get out and enjoy the warmer weather.

The City Farmers’ Market

The farmers market is a popular event during the spring. The market opens in April and goes through October. It can be located here:

The market is open from 9 am to 1 pm every Saturday and is full of local specialties ranging from fresh fruits, local honey, homemade bread and pastas, and much more. It is a fun way to get outside and explore the treasures that local businesses have to offer. Expo Shows

The annual Boise Spring Home Show is being held at the Expo Idaho Center later this month on the weekend of March 19th – March 22nd. There are going to be over 200 vendors at this event which can be a fun activity to get active and walk around through the displays. With it being the beginning of the spring season, it is time to get a head start on all the spring projects and the Boise Spring Home Show has tons of concepts and designs on display. A Spring Break Favorite: Treefort Music Festival

Unfortunately, the annual Treefort Music Festival has been postponed to September 23rd – 27th in Downtown Boise, but that doesn’t mean you can’t plan ahead! In addition to music, they have events like Foodfort, Storyfort, and Yogafort. It is not all about the music at this festival but about just all different kinds of art. There are tons of local opportunities for all ages to get out and enjoy the sunshine. Take a walk on the fabulous Green Belt, take a trolley ride around the city, or plan a picnic in a park. This city is full of activities when the sun begins to shine and the flowers begin to bloom, so take advantage of it!
