From catching a baseball game to arts and crafts with the family, there are plenty of fun things to do both inside and outside to celebrate the 4th.

Catch a Holiday Ball Game

An event that is fun for the entire family is catching a classic family ball game. The Boise Hawks will be playing the Missoula Paddleheads on the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th of July at 9 pm. All of them will have Post-game fireworks that you and your kids can watch. This way you will have plenty of chances to catch a game and get cozy seating.

While there, be sure to get some hot dogs, peanuts, Cracker Jacks, and other sweet treats. If you are interested in getting tickets you can find them on this website.

Fireworks Show

Fireworks are a staple of 4th of July activities for both kids and adults. With many locations having correlating activities outside of the show, fireworks are a spectacle that is sure to keep the whole family entertained during their celebration of our Independence Day.

If you are interested in fireworks, you can watch local shows up close or from the comfort of your own home. If you want to go with your friends to see the show, but know that you are going to be busy on the 4th of July, there is no need to worry because shows are happening throughout the entire weekend. All you have to do to find nearby shows is to just look up ‘4th of July local fireworks shows near me.’ You’re sure to find many options all around the Treasure Valley.

If you can’t visit one of these shows then you can possibly watch them from your window, as many people shoot off their own fireworks in celebration. If local fireworks do not impress you, there are multiple shows from all around America that you can watch on TV. Some will shock you with what they can do with just red, white, and blue and multiple designs.

You can also watch a parade and marching bands in the morning on TV and with your remaining time, you can watch a hot dog eating contest! You have endless opportunities if you choose to experience this national holiday from home.

Watch a Movie

A 4th of July activity that is fun and easy to do is to watch some classic American movies. You could go see the new Top Gun, or if you want to watch something at home then you could watch Independence Day, Sandlot, the original Top Gun, or even something from when you were a kid.

If you are more interested in war movies that are based on real events then you could watch some like Hacksaw Ridge, Fury, Lone Survivor, or Unbroken. All of these are great movies about people who served their country.

Arts and Crafts

Arts and crafts are one of those 4th of July festivities that are perfect for both adults and kids. You should make sure to use a lot of red, white, and blue as you create some great stuff.

You can make your own American flag by cutting colored paper and gluing pieces together or making red, white, and blue chain links. Use these to decorate your living space and make it fit for a 4th of July party. These sorts of crafts are great activities for keeping the kids entertained because they get to create some lovely things for grandma and/or grandpa to celebrate and of course are very festive. You could even do a backyard parade featuring your grandkids and pets as the stars.

Trivia Time

A fun way to go over American history is to have a Trivia night for one of your 4th of July activities. You can have questions about American icons, historic landmarks like the Liberty Bell and Independence Hall, and summer events that have to do with the month of July. You could also play a game where people have to guess patriotic tunes that people sing. People can earn bonus points if they finish the song!

These are great ways to liven up the people around you over the course of the day and you can make a party out of it for free! All that you have to do is check online for 4th of July Trivia, and pick out your favorites.
